Lee Griffo is the president and founder of the Iona Moon family of companies, including Iona Moon, LLC, and Iona Moon, Ltd.
Lee provides oversight and executive guidance over all Iona Moon operations. With over 20 years in marketing, public relations, capital attraction, business development, and corporate management, Lee provides strategic growth planning, business development, government and industry liaison services, capture planning, proposal management, alliance building, and executive guidance to her clients around the world. Lee makes a strong and lasting first impression, and is well-respected among the Navy contractor community and inside the “beltway” as a trusted agent.
Lee is a member of the NAVAIR Small Business Round-table and was founding co-chair of the SeaPort-e Process Improvement Committee. Lee served on the Board of Directors of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of Women in Defense and the Marketing and Development Committee of Leadership Southern Maryland and is an active member of the National Contract Management Association, the Navy League, the National Defense Industry Association, The Marine Corps Association and Foundation, and the Marine Corps Aviation Association.
Lee is a graduate of the 2011 Class of Leadership Southern Maryland and involved in working groups with Navy leadership to improve communications between DoD and industry. An outspoken small business advocate, Lee is frequently called upon by the press for her insights into current events and issues impacting small business.
Lee lives in Leonardtown, Maryland with her husband, Frank Griffo.
Iona Moon was founded in 2004 to provide marketing and business development services to small businesses seeking to increase presence in the Department of Defense market space.
We quickly gained a reputation for providing unique public relations, marketing, business development strategy and capture planning and execution solutions to our clients. We earned the respect of major industry players who remain loyal partners and collaborators today.
The consultancy grew and attracted more top talent in 2005 and 2006, adding services and expanding the Iona Moon client-base nationwide. We focused primarily on emerging-technology and engineering-services firms and enabled their success through teaming and S&T partnerships.
In 2005 we competed and won our first SeaPort-e contract. By 2008 we had won 18. That year we published the first edition of the SeaPort-e Proposal Toolkit, the first in a series of products designed to facilitate the proposal process for that contract and related task-orders. Since 2008, over 350 clients have used the Toolkit and Iona Moon expert support to become SeaPort-e prime contractors. Iona Moon is industry’s leading knowledge repository and expertise source on all-things SeaPort-e.
Today, the Iona Moon brand is a top name in defense consultancy and business growth strategy, with over 500 clients. Our consultants serve as trusted advisers to many industry leaders.
